“I still didn’t ask her on that date!”
It’s Friday at 4:58 pm. I am about to get off work for the weekend.
There is that girl from the other department at work. I’m ready to ask her out this time and will take her to the Italian restaurant everyone at work has been talking about.
I see her and am about to ask her, but I just told her to have a good weekend…
Once again, I failed, but I will try again on Monday. I checked the calendar and realized there’s a national holiday on Monday, so work will be closed. So, I must wait till Tuesday.
Maybe you have not experienced dating problems, but it might be problems with speaking in front of a crowd or talking to your boss.
Anxiety comes in many forms but does not have to control your life.
Friends and family are important. But…
One of my clients told me that his best friend of ten years was a great support for him. They talked about everything: sports, politics, and everyday life.
This client told his friend that he had been feeling anxious for about a month and was consumed with dread and couldn’t sleep.
His friend responded with, “Ah, just shake it off. You got this, buddy!”
He appreciated the encouragement, but it wasn’t enough.
Much more than a friend’s “you can do it” speech…
With individual therapy (aka “psychotherapy” or “counseling”), you get to work one-on-one with a trained mental health professional (me!) on issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, grief, stress, or low self-esteem.
It’s a confidential, collaborative process where you’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
We won’t take a cookie-cutter approach to your problems. We’ll create a plan that works for YOU!
Here’s what we’ll do…
Enhance your self-awareness…
Imagine being attuned to your body. What does that look like? Whether it is anxiety, depression, or past trauma, our body is affected. Someone who is depressed has a body that is shut down, lethargic, and unmotivated.
Awareness of your thoughts and feelings will help you understand how your body responds. I help clients focus on the problem and challenge the negative thoughts in the situation. By having that awareness, we can work on reducing depressive, anxious, or trauma symptoms.
Promote your personal growth…
When we struggle with negative thoughts due to anxiety, depression, and trauma, it can cause ongoing depression. Clients struggling with these issues cannot build acceptance of the issue. I help with this major stepping stone by safely processing the problem’s root.
Once we safely expose the problem, it will lose its strength; that is when you can grow and become the person you want to be.
Create a plan for success!
You leave a session feeling good. You think, “Wow, that was a great session,” but then you ask yourself, “Now what?” I help create a plan that we both agree with and that can help you make it easier to fulfill the goals you have for yourself.
Improve your overall well-being…
Once you understand the problem and work on the goals, this is when we stop, right? Wrong! This is where I help you continue the path of growth. We will look at physical health, mental health, spirituality, and social support so you are continuing the path of healing after the issue has been resolved.
This is your invitation…
